Contact@GoMVB.com Southern Pines, NC: Jadin Baptist plays linebacker, strong safety and free safety.

But it really doesn't matter where he lines up because wherever the ball winds up, he is there to make the play.

A 6-foot, 185-pound junior at Pinecrest High School in North Carolina, Baptist is always ready for the next snap.

After a game earlier this season for the 7-2 Patriots, Baptist was all over the field, prompting head coach Nick Eddins to say, "Jadin plays like his hair is on fire.''

Baptist, who is expected to be a heavily recruited player once his junior season stats get out, particularly since his improvement was so noticeable from his sophomore year to this year. He has the size, the speed and athletic instincts to play at the next level.

He bench presses 240 pounds and squats 310. He runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds and he broad jumps 8.1.

Baptist got his first taste of varsity action in 2021 and showed promise. He worked on reading the play and dropping back in coverage, which led him to be a complete linebacker/safety.

Baptist took his game to another level in 2022 as he leads the team in tackles with 73 in nine games, tackles for loss with 17, interceptions with three, and leads the team in sacks with six.

Scouting Report: ''Baptist has worked tremendously hard to become a player with promise to a player who has fulfilled that promise and who continues to get better. He can battle with a receiver at the line of scrimmage, he can read plays quickly and drop back into coverage at the drop of a dime. He can anticipate a play and is not afraid to make a hard hit.''
