Kamayiah Pruitt Ends Season as Mississippi District 8AAAA Offensive Player of The Year

Kamayiah Pruitt Ends Season as Mississippi District 8AAAA Offensive Player of The YearFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE May 2, 2023 Pass Christian, MS: Kamaiyah Pruitt had a huge junior season for the Pass Christian school of Mississippi. The Class of 2024 small forward–who is listed at 5’7”, 165-pounds–led the Lady Pirates to a 14-5 record, and deep into the Mississippi state playoffs. For her work, Pruitt was named the District 8 AAAA Offensive Player of the Year. All of this was done in her junior campaign, which bodes well for Pass Christian next season, as the Lady Pirates look to ride Pruitt all the way to a state title. During her dominant season, colleges started to take notice of the small forward, who had an innate ability to take over games when her team needed a boost: against Greene County in District play, Pruitt was able to will the Lady Pirates to victory in what ended up as a close 53-50 win. She did the same against Newton County in the playoffs. With the score close, Pruitt scored pivotal baskets down the stretch to help her team pull away for a 43-33 win: this came after a dominant 59-39 first round playoff win that saw Pruitt star. Pruitt was selected after the season to compete in the North South All-Star Game for 2023, and also the Talking Hoops in Da Sip Showcase. You can see why there is going to be a lot of hype around Pass Christian and Pruitt heading into next fall. In the classroom, Pruitt has been starring as well: she has a 3.3 GPA ahead of the second semester of 2022-23, and that is expected to rise over the next year. Here is a scouting report on Pruitt: “Pruitt has an explosive first step when she is going to the basket: when her team really needs a score, she can will her way to the hoop. She has a good midrange shot, which is something not everyone at this level has. She had a very good season, and was recognized with multiple honors. “It is going to be interesting to see what she can do next season for Pass Christian. She is still young (she is 16) and this is going to be an important offseason for her in the various out of school events. But Pruitt is going to be a good player at the next level, and should see the offers start to roll in.” To check out Pruitt’s film and stats, please visit his personalized player page here: https://go.gomvb.com/user/kamaiyah.pruitt/?profiletab=about About GoMVB: GoMVB offers personalized digital and social media promotional services specifically for high school prospects aspiring to become next level collegiate athletes.
