Gowans, who also plays first base and outfield, comes into his final season after a stellar 2022 across the board. Not only did he hit .400, but his strikeout to walk ratio was 6:1, which is exactly what you need as an arm at the next level. Speaking of the next level, Gowans already has a pair of offers on the table, from Mary Baldwin University and Norwich University. He also has received interest from the Virginia Military Academy, The Citadel, Ferrum College, and Bridgewater College. With another solid winter season, and a good start to the spring, Gowans might also pick up some more offers. He had a 3.0 GPA through his junior academic year at the very rigorous Fork Union, so you know Gowans is able to do the work as well. Right now, he is sitting in the mid-80s, but that is expected to keep increasing as he continues to age. His fastball has some late life on it, and his secondary pitches are also solid. This should be a big year for the senior, who should get some valuable innings under his belt in the winter and the spring. “He is only going to get better, and will be an asset to any team at the next level.
